“As a mature student, I particularly appreciate Carmen’s willingness to tailor her courses to the areas I prefer to concentrate on – she allows me ample opportunity to speak, and listen to her speak, Spanish in informal conversation, practice reading aloud as well as discussing the aids to learning she proposes, such as films or short stories. She also provides her own well-structured documentation to support discussions on grammar. In addition, she regularly suggests written work and corrects it.

I feel my efforts to master Spanish are taken seriously because she conducts classes entirely in Spanish and this bolsters my confidence – some teachers find this difficult, or are not consistent, especially with pupils who are native speakers of a language as common as English.
